Heyside Group Signage Transformation
The Brief
Following a recent renaming and rebranding initiative, Leach partnered with plastics recycler and manufacturer Heyside Group to bring their physical environment in line with their new identity. The goal was to modernise their site through updated exterior signage and the introduction of new internal signage and graphics that would better reflect their evolving brand.
This signage project formed part of a wider marketing strategy aimed at increasing brand awareness to support business expansion in the UK and internationally. The site needed to present a more professional, cohesive, and visually engaging experience for visitors, employees, and partners alike.
Phase one of the project included:
- 10 exterior signs across the site
- 11 internal wall and window graphics
- 6 different materials, including foamex, contravision and acrylic.
- Enhanced wayfinding and directional signage from the main road to improve accessibility for visitors and deliveries
Timelines were tight, with installation required ahead of an important PR visit from Oldham Council, adding an extra layer of pressure to deliver quickly without compromising on quality.
The Solution
The design, artwork and installation teams at Leach worked closely with Heyside Group to translate their new brand identity into a comprehensive signage system that balanced functionality with visual impact.
Externally, signage was redesigned and installed to create a strong, consistent brand presence across the site. This included high-quality, durable materials suitable for long-term outdoor use, ensuring visibility and longevity.
A key focus was improving wayfinding. Leach developed clearer, more intuitive directional signage from the main road through to the facility, making it easier for visitors and delivery drivers to navigate the site efficiently.
Internally, the introduction of wall and window graphics transformed the reception area, new product development lab, office and meeting spaces. These elements added colour, energy, and storytelling to the environment, reinforcing the new branding while creating a more engaging and modern workplace.
Despite the condensed timeline, Leach co-ordinated a recce, artwork setup, production and installation efficiently to meet the critical deadline ahead of the council visit.
The Results
The completed project delivered a significant upgrade to Heyside Group’s physical environment, aligning it with their new brand and strategic ambitions.
Key outcomes included:
- A more professional and cohesive site appearance
- Improved visitor experience through clearer wayfinding
- A modernised manufacturing plant exterior that strengthens brand perception
- A more vibrant, visually engaging office environment for employees and guests
The transformation not only enhanced day-to-day usability but also ensured the site made a strong impression during the Oldham Council visit which resulted in some positive PR coverage for Heyside.
With phase one successfully completed, the project has laid the groundwork for further enhancements. Phase two will expand the signage and graphics approach into additional areas of the site, continuing to build on the momentum of Heyside Group’s rebrand and growth strategy.
