Shining a Spotlight on Leach’s 10-Year Partnership with The Design Wing

With a legacy of over 100 years, we’ve had the pleasure of working on amazing projects for retail, museums and heritage sites, events and sporting venues. To bring these spaces to life, we collaborate with leading creative agencies and fit-out contractors, who count on us to design, produce and install large-format graphics and lightboxes.

Our decade-long partnership with The Design Wing has been particularly rewarding. Known for their innovative solutions in retail, exhibitions and events, Design Wing has reached out to us for numerous projects. In this spotlight, we’re excited to share some of the work we’ve created together.

Our Partnership with The Design Wing

The Design Wing is an expert creative agency specialising in exhibition design, set builds and event and showroom setups. Based in Gloucestershire, their team consists of highly skilled individuals who have worked with major brands in IT, energy and automotive.

With a seamless approach to design, they elevate every project by drawing on an extended network of specialists. Since 2014, we’ve worked alongside them on several exhibition stands. Our shared love for creativity and easy teamwork has built a strong partnership that only gets better with time.

Our Latest Work in Action

Over the past year, we’ve supported The Design Wing on exhibition stands for brands like Beko, 3M, Arco and Midea. Check out the highlights of our work below.

Beko Exhibition Stand

Our latest project with The Design Wing put a fresh spin on Beko’s new ‘EnergySpin’ washing machine, showcased at the National Exhibition Centre (NEC) this October. Beko’s stand featured a unique attraction: a life-sized washing machine powered by cycling races, where guests competed to speed up the machine’s cleaning cycle.

We developed multiple 9mm and 18mm MDF panels to build a 3D effect, which was wrapped in vinyl to replicate the washing machine’s interface. The Design Wing applied halo illuminations around the display, which created a powerful glow as guests cycled. We also created a magnetic leaderboard with dry wipe name tags to encourage friendly competition.

We produced an extra-large hanging canopy with interchangeable fabric graphics to complement The Design Wing’s stand design. Due to the venue size, this hanging banner helped draw guests’ attention from any direction, even during the busiest times.

Other work included cut lettering of the brand’s name and fabric and vinyl wraps for the walls to bring the stand together. It was a success for both teams!

3M Exhibition Stand

3M is a science-driven technology company with a portfolio of over 60,000 products. For Screwfix Live, they set out to create a bold brand presence for Scotch™ Tape. The Design Wing went beyond the brief with a custom exhibition stand showcasing the product’s versatility.

To support them, we developed 100% recyclable 16mm SWEDBOARD®  with a large-format print displaying 3M’s sustainability commitments. We also produced a hanging banner with eco-screen graphics from 100% recycled yarn. This circular tension frame is completely reusable, helping 3M save costs and waste.

Other smaller design elements included MDF printed stars and vinyl and foamex (foamed PVC board) cut lettering on the product displays.

Arco Exhibition Stand

In April, The Design Wing set up an exhibition stand for Arco, the leading safety experts, at the Health and Safety Event at the NEC. The Design Wing wanted to produce a creative space for Arco, using strong branding and lighting.

To help with this immense effort, our team developed 5mm foamex lettering, printed vinyl and laser-cut acrylics. Each element required meticulous attention to fit the angled walls and alcoves.

Lighting was essential in this stand, which was effectively done through The Design Wing’s illuminated alcoves and lightboxes. We applied vinyl graphics to these lightboxes to create more branding opportunities.
