BLINK: The End is in Sight scoops major industry award
One of the perks of life at Leach is that we get to work on some incredible international projects – and Sightsavers’ ‘BLINK: The End is in Sight’ campaign was no different.
Having won the ‘Experiential Design’ prize, alongside being highly commended in the ‘Design for Good’ category, at this year’s The Drum Design Awards 2020, we wanted to give our clients, MET Studio, a virtual pat on the back.
As detailed by The Drum, ‘‘BLINK: The End is in Sight’, was a temporary exhibition displayed within London’s OXO Gallery – and featured the work of five award-winning photographers, including Nick Knight.
‘Partnering with charity Sightsavers on ‘The End is in Sight’ campaign, lead creatives MET Studio digitally hacked the traditional gallery space to drive a visual narrative of the devastating effects of Trachoma. The aim of the campaign was to help eradicate the disease within the next five years, with a creative goal of generating public awareness with an immersive visitor experience which physically connected people to the issue…
‘MET Studio, alongside Barker Langham and Jason Brudge Studio, developed an interactive interface and innovative blink tracking technology that mimicked the effects of Trachoma by eroding the artwork blink by blink, pixel by pixel. Dramatic graphics took the form of bold lines and split shadows, depicted diminishing eyesight and leading visitors around the space.’
In support of the exhibition, Leach was contracted to produce a range of timber structures to house the digital screens, as well as all window, floor and wall graphics – which included 100 square metres of our super-strong and seamless Titan wallpaper, in addition to a range of window and floor vinyls to help maximise exposure. All graphics were installed in less than one day by our in-house team with everything supplied at cost – with no charge for labour.
