Topshop

Topshop 'The Icon is Back' flagship store

The Brief

When the leading fashion brand, Topshop, wanted to create maximum impact with the launch of Kate Moss’ own clothing range across their 300 store UK estate, Leach bespoke graphics were chosen to be at the forefront of the promotion.

Building on the positive feedback from the ongoing use of large Stik magnetic wallpaper and Vision lightboxes throughout the estate, Topshop wanted to use large scale graphics in an even more creative way at the flagship store on Oxford Street.

The concept was to display the dramatic images of the iconic fashion model with extensive use of Stik throughout the store but the main focus would be the wrapping of fifteen rectangular columns with lightboxes.

The idea of a lightbox column with images meeting seamlessly at each corner had never been achieved before and with only four weeks to launch the pressure was on.

The Solution

A number of design options were suggested before a bespoke profile, to achieve the corner detail, was brought to final design and tested. Once approved the manufacture could start on the four metre high columns with each one being a different size. A full prototype was produced and final details adjusted and tested.

The whole project was manufactured in-house at the Huddersfield site and delivered and fitted over the three nights prior to launch.

The Result

The store looked stunning and exceeded all expectations with the columns as the marquee items. Crowds flocked to the store blocking Oxford Street to catch a glimpse of the real Kate Moss, but saw a feast of larger than life versions of the Icon returning to Topshop.
