Rolling out Pepsi's refreshing rebrand to the UK

The Brief

In 2023, Pepsi unveiled its new branding in a bid to attract a younger demographic worldwide. The new logo and visual identity borrow the best of Pepsi’s 125-year heritage while appealing to an “increasingly digital world”.

The Pepsi rebrand’s global rollout was set for March 2024, after its official launch in North America in the autumn of last year. To make an impact in the UK drinks industry, Pepsi tasked Impact Collective, a production agency, to create an event stand complete with the brand’s fresh visual identity.

Pepsi showcased at the Publican Awards in Evolution London at Battersea Park in March 2024. Driving awareness was crucial, so Impact Collective contacted Leach to produce lightboxes and fabric graphics to add to their curated stand.

The Solution

Our team worked as an extension of Impact Collective and collaborated to ensure every phase, from design to production, went smoothly. After Impact Collective briefed us, we moved through several R&D stages, perfecting each graphic and finalising three lightbox concepts that would bring the stands together.

We first worked on the heart of Pepsi’s stand – a large pulsing, wall-mounted lightbox. In the centre, we printed the iconic logo onto our eco screen, a 100% recyclable fabric graphic that effectively reproduced Pepsi’s bold, new colour palette. At the back, we placed a series of pixel LED strip lights in a spiral pattern to create the signature Pepsi pulse. This added movement and energy to the lightbox, evoking the “ripple, pop and fizz” Pepsi is known for.

Our technical team designed the lighting sequence into a program accessible through an SD card, allowing Pepsi to plug and play when needed. We also created two dynamic VF65 lightboxes with fabricated corners to create a curved effect. These lightboxes were designed to the shape of the stand, so precision was essential to getting them right. Foamex boarding surrounded the back of the stand, complete with Pepsi’s branding.

We produced black-backed fabric panels, which provided maximum opacity, allowing all other graphic elements to stand out across both stands. For Tango, our team created two sets of fret-cut foam letters with soft orange lighting for a subtle branding effect.

Bringing an Iconic Stand to Light

With Impact Collective’s guidance, we delivered all display graphics in line with their team’s work so they integrated seamlessly together. The results were outstanding – a timeless stand for a new rebrand.

Will Binns, Business Development Manager at Leach, said, “We were honoured when Impact Collective chose us to collaborate on a project for an iconic brand like Pepsi. The Leach team put so much effort and skill into developing the lightboxes, so seeing it all come together with Impact Collective’s work truly reflects what we have to offer.

Bruce Lerman, Managing Director at Impact Collective, adds, “This project was a success from the start. The Leach team knew exactly what we required and worked with us throughout the design and production process to ensure everything went well. We look forward to working with Leach again on future projects.”
