Cutty Sark
The Brief
Leach were commissioned by Workhaus to work on this British landmark and true icon of maritime history.
Leach’s role included:
- Product design and specification
- Project Management
- Timber printing and shaping
- Sackcloth printing and stitching
- Timber flame-branding
- On-site screen printing
- Hand stenciling
- Lambda Graphics
- Internal wayfinding
- Logistics
- Installation and site works
The Solution
We were keen to provide an interpretive scheme that worked alongside the fantastic vessel and helped develop a subtle yet beautiful graphic scheme. This involved printing curved pieces of timber, mimicking the lines of the ship’s hull, digitally printing an entire cargo of tea chests, not to mention a ship’s hold full of printed sacks!
The result is truly inspirational and provides the visitor with a glimpse of working life aboard the Cutty Sark, whilst telling its story with genuine interest.
