New trend injecting the ‘wow factor’ into retail spaces

As autumn is now upon us, we’ve reached that time of year when the thoughts of shoppers turn to making their festive purchases. With the Christmas selling period already well underway, the pressure is certainly on for brands to maintain engagement with their customers and attempt to draw them into stores to make those all-important investments.

And by using vibrant or unusual features to inject the ‘wow factor’ onto the shop floor, an increase in footfall can often automatically occur.

One trend which we are certainly seeing come to the fore is for biophilia – or ‘living’ – walls. Incorporating an element of the natural world into commercial and public spaces, these foliage-rich panels can truly ‘bring to life’ any area – and the retail arena has certainly got on board with this latest craze.

Although suitable for any season, Christmas does provide a great opportunity to showcase their potential. Ivy, for example, can be pinned into a polystyrene block situated within the aluminium frame surround, and twinkling fairy lights can even be added as a finishing touch.

With the level of high-quality artificial plants now available, these easily installed features have the added benefits of longevity, flexibility – in terms of moving or swapping foliage as required – and an extremely low level of maintenance. A great addition for enticing the Christmas crowds into any retail space!
