After weeks of anticipation in the office, Leach is delighted to announce that the team has been shortlisted for Green Company of the Year at the Digital Printer Awards.
The criteria for the category required print companies to demonstrate ongoing commitment to sustainability through their policies and working practices.
This is something that Leach as an entity has always put to the forefront of our work, especially in recent times. As a result, our submission contained information on our historical environmental conscience, as well as our commitment to reducing clients’ carbon footprints through our very newest product offerings.
Over the last 12 months, for example, we’ve spent £100,000 of our R&D budget designing, prototyping and launching a graphic display solution with even greater green performance. And we’re delighted that we are being recognised for our work in this latest awards scheme!
We now have to wait until 7 November to find out whether we’ve been successful in achieving this accolade, and we’ll be sending some of the Leach team down to Grosvenor Square in London – while the rest of us keep our fingers crossed!
Because our goal was ambitious, we didn’t just look at one component part of our lightboxes, e.g. LEDs. Instead, we developed entirely new supplier relationships, adjusted our manufacturing process and completely reworked our recycling schemes.
Commenting on the shortlist, marketing manager Michael Trevethan, said: “I’m thrilled that Leach has been recognised in this category, showing its commitment to the environment. But more than that, the business has truly called upon others across the sector to adjust their mindsets too, amidst the mounting pressures for companies to do more to protect the planet. I’m hopeful for a win!”
If you want to stay in the loop, keep an eye on our Twitter feed on 7 November, to see who walks away with the trophy.
