Barburrito turns up the heat with in-store displays

Posted on 20th Feb 2017

Mexican eatery Barburrito has unveiled a new look in its Union Square restaurant in Aberdeen.

Striking lightboxes designed, manufactured and installed by Yorkshire-based Leach Impact have replaced digital screens traditionally used for the vibrant brand’s menu bulkhead. Fitted with dimmer switches to control the brightness and easily-interchangeable fabric prints that staff can alternate themselves, the new POS displays provide an eye-catching addition within this popular restaurant space.

Similar menu lightboxes have since been installed at the Gordon Street Barburrito in Glasgow. But the interior facelift does not stop there.

Feature wall vinyls that reflect the Barburrito brand have also been created by Leach. Following a trial at the Trafford Centre, Manchester – where the prints were applied to the restaurant’s bare concrete interior with a heat gun – three further vinyls were then installed within a 48-hour period at the Gateshead Metro Centre, Hammersmith, Cardiff and Queen Street, Glasgow.

Now all eyes are on London Paddington Station, which promises more wall vinyls, menu lightboxes, Perspex lettering, full piece wallpaper, table top graphics and more. Attention has also turned to the Meadowhall Shopping Centre restaurant which is due to open in the centre of the Oasis, in late Spring. With much remaining under wraps for the time being, all that shoppers can currently see is a hoarding covered with a striking 53.2sqm vinyl, again printed and installed by Leach 24 hours after the approval.

Commenting on the impact of every new visual asset, Barburrito’s Development Manager Scott Hale said:

“The look and feel of our restaurants is extremely important in differentiating ourselves from our competitors, so we try to create stores that are both fun and relaxing. I approached Leach as they were keen to work with me to improve our current designs and explore new ideas. I have been really pleased with the level of personal service, their communication and with the new displays we have progressed.”
