A1 Retail – Autumn Trends

Posted on 2nd Oct 2019

Watchfinder Christmas Display

Last month Leach featured in the award-winning publication A1 Retail, talking all things lightboxes and Christmas campaigning…

With the run up to Christmas being a retailers most crucial time, what can retailers do to maximise sales and brand presence this autumn?

Head of Innovation at Leach, Mike Willshaw, said:

“For retailers – and the companies who assist in their festive campaigns – Christmas begins in August. It’s the most important time of the year and the season where, if brands are going to spend any money on their displays, it will be during this period.

It gives stores the chance to ease customers into the Christmas spirit. With impactful graphics playing a huge part in setting the mood around this crucial shopping season.

It can be easy to forget that lighting shouldn’t be all about the main store space either. Passers-by will be drawn to visually appealing window displays, even when lit in the daytime. The British weather only provides bright sunlight for a proportion of the year, so on dark wintery days, a well-lit storefront will continue to gain attention from potential customers.

There are numerous options available to retailers, including eye-catching lightboxes. Also, contra vision graphics are a great addition to any window and enable a different view for customers situated outside to those in the store.

And don’t miss the opportunity to maximise window displays by switching them off at night. Many outlets are based on high streets or in shopping centres, that still experience footfall until late into the evening, such as when diners may be leaving restaurants. As a result, try to catch their attention and make an impression on its potential buyers, even after the doors have closed.

To allay any concerns over energy consumption, timers can easily be put in place to turn the displays on and off as required.

In short, keep your windows bright, your store experiential and your customers engaged – each element plays a major part in successful Christmas retailing!”
